Tours of the Lucideon and Johnson–Matthey facilities (limited to 20 people) are being offered on Friday, May 17; the tours will run concurrently.

Lucideon is a development and commercialization organization (DCO), specializing in materials technologies and processes. Its application of cross-industry insight, materials science expertise and innovative thinking allows industry to develop and implement disruptive technology platforms, providing cost and/or product performance benefits and enabling real market differentiation. In addition to a multi-disciplinary team of scientists, engineers and commercial analysts, Lucideon has world-leading testing and characterization laboratories, and a combination of pilot and feasibility plant and equipment.

The visit to Lucideon will include presentations on topics including flash sintering technology, Lucideon’s R&D projects in advanced ceramics (CMCs, ceramic additive manufacturing, batteries and fuel cells), and the development of a National Advanced Sintering Centre.  A tour of Lucideon’s laboratories and pilot plant facilities will also be included.  The tentative schedule for the tour is from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM and can be adjusted as needed.

Johnson Matthey is a global leader in sustainable technologies applying cutting-edge science to create solutions with customers that make a real difference to the world around us.   As leaders in their field for more than 200 years, applying unrivalled scientific expertise to enable cleaner air, improved health and the more efficient use of our planet’s natural resources, Johnson Matthey continues to invest in sound research and development designed to tackle the world’s big challenges into their third century and beyond.
