CDP reports it had a successful fall meeting on October 26-27, 2015, at the Raleigh Sheraton Downtown in Raleigh, North Carolina. The meeting was attended by 92 industry members and guests along with faculty from North Carolina State University, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Sheffield England and Jozef Stefan Institute in Slovenia. Among the invited guests in attendance were representatives from Eastman, Harris Corp., St. Jude Medical, W.L. Gore, Knowles Capacitors and Rhom. Knowles and Rhom decided to join the center after attending the fall meeting.
In addition, a reception was held at Jimmy V’s Restaurant for IAB members and CDP faculty on Sunday evening from 6:30 – 9:00 PM. Related events to the meeting were a golf outing at the NC Lonnie Poole Golf Course on Sunday, October 25 beginning 1PM and a Tutorial Workshop on In-situ Materials Characterization, Wednesday, October 28, 8:30AM- noon. The tutorial workshop attended by 19 faculty and industry members featured:
- Lecture and hands-on demonstrations of in-situ X-ray diffraction techniques (variable T, atmosphere, electric field)
- Lecture and hands-on demonstrations of in-situ electron microscopy techniques (variable T, atmosphere, electric field and liquid cell
