Research:
Yiwen’s research focus is on thermal-physical property characterization for wide/ultra-wide bandgap materials and their ternary alloys (GaN, AlN, Ga2O3, (Al_xGa_1-x)₂O₃, Al_xGa_1-xN, Sc_xAl_1-xN). With the capability of optical pump/probe technique (FDTR/SSTR) he is able to characterize the thermal conductivity and interface conductance of various material systems. The understanding of thermal transport is fundamental to propose thermal management solutions and overcome thermal limitations of devices based on these materials.
