Nick Carroll

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Greg Parsons Group – NC State

Research:
Nick’s research is centered around thin film formation via atomic layer deposition (ALD) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD). Specifically, his goal is to understand growth mechanisms and physical properties for thin films of vapor-deposited barium titanate under varying conditions and treatments in order to compare their performance to bulk materials. Additionally, Nick aims to study the potential for patterning of these materials via area-selective deposition (ASD) on different surfaces using surface chemistry reactions to change the energetics of bonding interactions.

Expected graduation date: May 2026
