Michael Forstmeier

Mechanical Engineering
Brian Foley Group – PSU

Research:
Michael is currently investigating the additive manufacturing and high frequency testing of photopolymer composites. Generally, he is attempting to tune the thermal and dielectric properties of various photopolymer resins while maintaining the ability to utilize the flexibility of SLA 3D printing. In conjunction with this research goal, Michael is investigating the feasibility of alternative means of composite part synthesis which include: spin coating and slab casting. Once these processes are fully understood, functional parts such as Substrate Integrated Waveguides (SIWs) with tunable dielectric, thermal, and magnetic characteristics will be made and tested.

Expected graduation date: May 2022
