Research:
Leah’s research focuses on improving processing techniques for the synthesis of dielectric and piezoelectric ceramics by using in situ high temperature X-ray diffraction (XRD). The objective of her research is to advance our empirical understanding of how oxides and carbonates transform, decompose, and react at elevated temperatures and under various gas environments, enabling the design of new processing strategies for complex perovskites. In order to systematically investigate the phase evolution of selected precursor powders, in situ XRD experiments are utilized to monitor the time-temperature-dependent reactions.
