James Spencer Lundh

Mechanical Engineering
Sukwon Choi Group – PSU

Research:
During his graduate studies, the majority of James research has been focused on the thermal and stress characterization of transistors and micro-electrical-mechanical systems (MEMS) based on wide bandgap materials using Raman spectroscopy, thermoreflectance thermal imaging, and infrared thermography.

As a founding member of the Electronics and Thermography Laboratory at Penn State, James also had the unique opportunity (i) to create data acquisition and analysis systems, (ii) to establish electrical characterization methods, and (iii) to be exposed to a vast array of material systems (GaN, AlxGa1-xN, β-Ga2O3, diamond, AlN, PZT, Si, SiC, sapphire, cubic-BAs, 2D materials, nanoparticles, polymers) and electronic systems (transistors, LEDs, MEMS).

Expected graduation date: Spring 2021
