Huimin Qiao

Materials Science & Engineering
Nina Balke Group – NCSU

Research:
Huimin’s research focuses on the local characterization of functional materials, especially the electromechanical response, ion transport, and flexoelectric effect in ferroelectric and piezoelectric materials, using atomic force microscopy (AFM) with multi-frequency technique. With a conductive AFM tip with radius of ~30 nm, multi-fields coupling effects, responses, and mechanism could be investigated at the nanoscale for various types of materials, including bulks, thick/thin films, 2D materials, etc.
