Research:
Haley’s research focuses on ultrasonic characterization of defects and microstructure in cold sintered ceramics. Haley is investigating the viability of ex situ ultrasonic measurements of cold sintered materials for detection of defects that are indistinguishable via relative density measurements. The goal is in situ ultrasonic monitoring of the cold sintering process to determine origin of detected defects for improving homogeneity in cold sintered materials.
