The rollout of 5G devices is in its infancy. With the exception of a few square blocks in a few American cities. no one in U.S. is currently using 5G technology. Current 4G technology, the generation that delivers data to your smart phone, took three to five years from its inception to reach a large number of users, which means wide-spread adoption will likely come in the early 2020s for the new technology. As with high-speed internet, rural areas will likely be left behind for years.
